If you're excited and show it, others will follow your lead. Next time you want to get people fired up, keep these findings in mind:

  • Move to motivate. Get others involved in motions that create good will: walking, sharing a meal, giving or receiving a gift. When people move together, their vital signs — eye pupil dilation, skin temperature, heartbeat — sync up, and they're more likely to get along.

  • State your message often, in as many ways as you can. The more people talk about something, repeat and revise an idea, write it down, and explain it to others, the more deeply they will believe it. And frequently they will tell others about it.
