The summer's big meeting-industry networking events both convene in Colorado in July, starting with the Convention Industry Council's 2004 Certified Meeting Professional Conclave July 8 to 10 at the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs. The Conclave, open to CMPs only, will focus on such key topics as meeting contracts and managing international meetings, as well as CIC's projects — APEX and Project Attrition.

Later in the month, July 25 to 27, Meeting Professionals International's World Education Conference meets at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Last summer, the event drew 1,096 planners, and organizers hope to beat that with a lineup of more than 90 sessions, on topics that range from online marketing trends and event sponsorships to crisis management.
