What companies have to do, according to Brittain, is abandon the old corporate hierarchy and replace it with a galaxy of new, star-shaped structures: multi-pointed stars featuring manager-coaches in the center surrounded by the employees they supervise.
What will happen to those corporations that refuse to make these changes? "Companies that remain stuck in the old hierarchy," says Brittain, "will find themselves entombed."
