Opened in April, the Chattanoogan, a 202-room convention/conference hotel, offers a 25,000-square-foot conference center complete with meeting planning and state-of-the-art AV support; 20 dedicated meeting rooms with five general session rooms that can accommodate 25 to 100 attendees; a 16-seat board room featuring a flat data screen; 12 breakout rooms; a 75,000 square-foot ballroom; and an 85-seat amphitheater.

All meeting and guest rooms are equipped with networking capabilities and high-speed Internet access, thanks to 40 miles of Category 5 cable that run through the property.

The site, launched in June with 17 hotels signed on (now 65), targets the needs of meeting planners with short-term (one to 18 months out) meeting business. Just three clicks enable planners to search hotel information by various preferences; have the hotel that best fills their needs selected (at the same time, they can attach their own RFP or fill one out online); and send an e-mail booking request to the selected hotel. The planner is instantly given a confirming copy with two sales contracts, including direct phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
