Rockin' Out in Tampa
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino opened in March in Tampa, Fla., “Hard Rock — style,” with the smashing of a guitar, Flying Elvi skydivers in Elvis costumes, and a concert by Hootie and the Blowfish. The opening weekend festivities gave guests the opportunity to see the 12-story, 250-room hotel and 90,000-square-foot casino complex firsthand.
The hotel offers 10,000 square feet of meeting space, including an 8,000-square-foot grand ballroom, divisible into eight; Floyd's, a restaurant and nightclub; and Body Rock, a full-service spa.
It is on the Seminole Indian Reservation in Tampa, about 20 minutes east of Tampa International Airport. In May, its sister hotel, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, will open in Hollywood, Fla., with 500 rooms, a 130,000-square-foot casino, and 25,000 square feet of meeting space.
“As an incentive destination, South Florida just got better,” says Andrew Rosuck, vice president of sales, Seminole Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos. “We already have great weather, great golf, beautiful beaches, and now we have gaming.”
