WHERE TO MEET Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Center has 31 meeting rooms that cater to groups ranging from 10 to 400 people; a 596-seat auditorium; a multipurpose ballroom that can accommodate 1,800 people in theater-style with pre-function areas. Capacity of largest theater-style is 12,000; 5,000 for Western sit-down/Chinese dinner, 8,800 for a reception • other meeting and exhibition facilities include The Raffles City Convention Center at Swissotel, The Stamford, with 18 function rooms, banquet facilities capable of handling up to 2,000 people • Singapore Expo offers up to 648,000 square feet of column-free, indoor exhibition space and another 269,100 square feet of outdoor space. WHAT'S NEW The 177-year-old Arts House at the Old Parliament, which formerly housed the Singapore Court House and was the seat of legislature, now provides the perfect venue for a cocktail reception • new MICE industry standards such as the COPE (Controlled Performance) certification program, Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) Program and The Singapore Standard on Exhibition Terminology and Audit Procedures (SSETAP) were also launched by industry members, with the support of Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to ensure a consistent and high level of professionalism and service quality for Singapore's MICE industry.
