STRATEGIES TO GET ATTENDEES GOLFING
GOLF HAS COMPETITION for attendees' attention these days, reported members of the Golden Links Advisory Board at the group's annual meeting, held in January in Orlando, Fla.
While the golf boom of the 1990s introduced a lot of people to the sport, many of those who picked up the game are putting it back down. The advisory board discussed ideas for re-introducing attendees to golf, as well as alternatives to the standard 18-holes, many of which are featured in this month's cover story, beginning on page 12.
Walt Disney World hosted the session for the third straight year. The meeting was held in a one-of-a-kind venue: the Spaceship Earth Lounge inside the landmark sphere at Epcot Center. Afterwards, the group took in a superb demonstration by golf trick-shot artist Dennis Walters (see article on page 29) and a round of golf at Disney's Palm Golf Course.
