Don't underestimate the role employees' partners and families play in helping them reach their goals. Few companies acknowledge families — but you can. Some ideas:

• Ask spouses for suggestions for gifts/merchandise to reward your employees.

• Send a note to your employees' homes thanking them.

• Send flowers to the family for no reason.

• Raffle off or pass out old computers and other office equipment. They could be perfect for someone's kids.
