The Renaissance Hotel Group has appointed Michael Williams as president and chief executive officer. Williams, who will be based in Hong Kong, served in senior management with Mandarin Oriental Hotels in North America and Asia for 13 years. Frank Calaguire has been named senior vice president of sales and marketing for Renaissance Hotels and Resorts in the Americas. Calaguire, who will be based in the company's Cleveland head-quarters, joins Renaissance from Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, where he most recently served as vice president, sales operations.
John Johnston has been named executive vice president of operations for Loews Hotels. Johnston, based in New York City, had been in Singapore where he served as regional vice president, Asia, for Four Seasons Regent Hotels.
Pat Schmucki has been appointed executive director of the Dublin (OH) Convention & Visitors Bureau. Schmucki had been director of public relations for Gerbig, Snell/Weisheimer & Associates, Inc., an advertising, marketing, and public relations firm based in Columbus, OH.
The Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau has promoted Dick Martinez from director of sales to vice president, convention division. Patti Towell will now serve as vice president, convention sales and services, promoted from associate director of sales, convention division.
