The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., has undergone some big changes in recent months. Last May the resort was bought by West Virginia businessman Jim Justice after the property¹s previous owner, railroad company CSX Corp., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Since the purchase, Justice has been putting plans into place to revive the resort as a premier conference and tourist destination.

First up: The property introduces gaming with its underground Casino at The Greenbrier, debuting in April 2010. A special feature of the new casino will be the  champagne ³toast of luck² offered every evening to guests at 8 p.m.

While the new 80,000-square-foot gaming, dining, and retail facility is being built, guests can enjoy the temporary Tavern Casino, which opened in the resort¹s lounge on October 1.

Once the main casino opens, the Tavern Casino will be available for private parties and groups. The Greenbrier offers 635 guest rooms, a dedicated conference center, more than 40 meeting rooms, three championship golf courses, a 40,000-square-foot spa, tennis courts, and nine dining facilities.
