Convention Industry Council's 2010 Hall of Leaders Gala

The 16th Hall of Leaders Gala, the Convention Industry Council’s celebration of the meetings industry’s most influential people, will take place on Monday, January 11, at the Fairmont Dallas, during the annual meeting of the Professional Convention Management Association.

Since 1985, CIC has inducted 97 people into the HOL, a Who’s Who of the meetings industry. The new class of five is equally distinguished, recognizing meeting pro Terri Breining, CMP, CMM, founder of Concepts Worldwide and chair of the APEX Commission (one of CIC’s signature programs), and hospitality icons, such as Preston Robert Tisch. Tisch, of Loews Hotels fame, and fellow hotelier Steve Porter of IHG, are being recognized posthumously.

Rounding out the honorees are Tom Mobley, senior vice president for convention centers for Global Spectrum Facility Management, and Jerry Wayne, vice president sales and marketing at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulpher Springs, W.V.

The theme of January’s event is Recognizing Leaders, Celebrating Industry Unity. The attire for the formal affair is "black-tie with a twist," which calls for diamonds and denim, cowboy boots and tuxedos, high heels and hats for the Texas-themed gala.

For more info on the inductees and for ticket information, visit the CIC Web site.
