ACTE Executive Director Resigns

Highlights
Susan Gurley will leave association as of December 1, 2009.

As the Association of Corporate Travel Executives wrapped up its Global Education Conference in Prague October 27, Executive Director Susan Gurley announced she will resign from her position before the end of the year. According to ACTE President Richard Crum, Gurley told ACTE's board of directors that she intends to return to government service.

Megan Costello, currently deputy executive director, will serve as interim executive director when Gurley leaves on December 1. Gurley will remain an adviser to ACTE through January 1, 2010.

During Gurley's four years with the association, ACTE expanded throughout Asia, Europe, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, Crum said in a press release. "Under her direction, ACTE convened the first Latin American, Canadian, and African regional conferences and business travel–management forums in Russia, India, and Nigeria. She also convened the first low-carbon conference within the industry."

Alexandria, Va.–based ACTE, whose membership consists of senior travel industry executives from 82 countries, has formed an executive director search committee and will begin the candidate review process in conjunction with the board of directors.
