Carlson Marketing Becomes Aimia
Groupe Aeroplan, the loyalty management company based in Montréal, which owns meeting and incentive management giant Carlson Marketing, has rebranded as Aimia.
Carlson Marketing as well as sister company LMG Insight & Communication have both begun operating under the new palindromic name. In a release, company President and CEO Rupert Duchesne said, "We selected our new name, Aimia, to represent the full-suite, global loyalty business that we have become. It encompasses our straightforward passion to build long term, profitable relationships and our goal to become the recognized global leader in loyalty management."
Air Canada spun off its loyalty rewards program as a separate public company, Groupe Aeroplan, in 2005. In 2009, the company purchased Carlson Marketing.
