New Leadership Conference at the Mo’ Show
Meeting and Incentive Travel Strategies is one of four learning tracks being offered at this year’s Motivation Show. The event, September 25 to 27 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, has upgraded its education and is now offering an Executive Leadership Conference, with more than 30 sessions. Attendees can sign up for a seminar package, which allows them to enroll in up to seven seminars over the three-day period, or register for individual sessions.
MeetingsNet’s own Barbara Scofidio, editor of Corporate Meetings & Incentives, will lead a panel called Green Power: Your Strategic Role in Creating Eco-friendly Meetings and Incentives. Panelists will include Marge Anderson, associate director, Energy Center of Wisconsin, Madison; Ron Vlasic, regional director of operations for Kimpton Hotels in Chicago; and Kim Boriin, CMP, Guardian Investor Services, New York.
The meetings track will also address cultural diversity, strategic meetings management, and other hot issues. The motivation track has sessions on socially responsible incentives, recognition solutions for multinational companies, and new research on motivational strategies from the Incentive Research Foundation, among other topics.
Matthew Kelly, a speaker and New York Times bestselling author, will speak at the Chicago Area Chapter of Meeting Professionals International luncheon on Wednesday, September 26, on “The Dream Manager—Driving Your Organization.”
To help match attendees to targeted education, exhibitors, and products, as well as to other buyers and planners, The Motivation Show is offering its new MotivationConnect service, a suite of Web-based social networking tools.
MotivationConnect offers "My Event Plan," a kind of online personal assistant that mines The Motivation Show community and creates a list of companies, products, seminars, people, and other resources that best suit an attendee's business profile and preferences. It's updated regularly in the weeks leading up to the show. The free service has been developed by BD Metrics by combining trade show registration programming with a system similar to popular online matchmaking computer services, says Peter Erickson, managing director of The Motivation Show.
