MPI and Messe Berlin Launch New Asia Conference
Meeting Professionals International and Messe Berlin will co-locate and co-market a new Asia event for Asian meeting and travel professionals in October. Messe Berlin, a major European trade show organizer, is hosting the first ITB Asia Travel Trade Show and Convention October 22-24 in Singapore, and MPI is planning the first Asian Meetings and Events Conference to immediately follow, from October 24 to 26.
Both organizations view Singapore as a gateway to the Asia-Pacific region and hope to create “the premier platform for knowledge sharing and relationship-building,” according to a press release. The decision to partner on the two events allows for greater market reach and penetration.
ITB Berlin is expected to draw 5,000 visitors, and the Asian Meetings and Events Conference is set to attract 250 conference delegates. Qualified meeting planners from all over the world are invited to take part in a Hosted Buyer Program, which is expected to draw 30 meeting professionals. The Singapore Exhibition and Conference Bureau will cover airfare, MPI will offer complimentary registration, and Messe Berlin will cover the accommodations. Visit mpiweb.org, for more.
