New Hotel Planned for Downtown Indianapolis

Dolce Hotels and Resorts will manage a 157-room hotel soon to be built in downtown Indianapolis. The company says that it is a model for future urban hotels: a hybrid between a center-city lifestyle and conference hotel. The hotel, expected to open in fall 2012, will feature 16 meeting rooms totaling 15,000 square feet of function space, including a rooftop boardroom with city views. Dolce expects certification by the International Association of Conference Centers

The Dolce-managed hotel will open in 2012 in downtown Indianapolis.

A Cisco TelePresence facility is planned for the hotel complex, and high-speed, wireless Internet service will be available throughout the building.

Conference space will occupy the floor between ground-level retail and upper-floor guest rooms.

There will be a full-service restaurant, an American-style brasserie, and 1,200-square-foot lounge with a view of the downtown skyline. The hotel will have a fitness center, and plans call for also offering access to a nearby, state-of-the-art, 75,000-square-foot downtown YMCA.

The hotel is part of a $155 million, mixed-use project being developed by Buckingham Companies that includes multiple mid-rise, mixed-use buildings on approximately 15 acres, adjacent to four of Indianapolis’ largest employers: Eli Lilly and Co., WellPoint Inc., Rolls Royce, and Indiana Farm Bureau.
