Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Completes $20 Million Resortwide Renovation

Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo., completed its yearlong, $20 million, property-wide renovation in April 2011. The renovation encompassed common areas, landscaping, guest rooms, and meeting spaces.

All 38 meeting rooms, totaling more than 40,000 square feet of space, have new carpeting, wall coverings, furnishings, sound systems, lighting, and rear-projection screens. The resort’s 316 guest rooms now feature flat-screen TVs; iHome Mp3 clock radios; refrigerators; coffee makers; and irons and ironing boards. Recreational amenities include an 18-hole golf course, five swimming pools, tennis and racquetball courts, a health and fitness center, and an aquatics center and 35-acre lake.

Cheyenne Mountain is now an official Silver-certified Green Seal resort. It partnered with Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity ReStore to donate guest room furniture during the renovation. The nonprofit organization will resell donated items, including desks, lamps, and framed paintings, to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Since 2004, Habitat for Humanity has built 14 homes with the $200,000 raised from items donated by Cheyenne Mountain Resort.
