MGM Mirage Launches Las Vegas iPhone Apps

The MGM Mirage has launched free iPhone applications dedicated to Las Vegas. “Vegas Reality” merges the real Las Vegas with a virtual version of the city for a multidimensional experience of its hotels and attractions. Users can point their iPhones at resorts and watch as information automatically appears as floating text on their screen using the phone’s camera and GPS. (Video preview here).

The company also has launched the first three of a series of apps for its Las Vegas hotels: Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, and New York-New York; apps for MGM Mirage's remaining properties and attractions are under way. These apps allow users to watch show video previews; check seating charges and book tickets; access GPS maps to navigate the Strip and indoor casino maps; order room service, browse restaurant menus, and make reservations; preview and reserve rooms; see the property’s Facebook & Twitter accounts for special events and promos; and get updates on news and weather.

A fifth app—"Entertainment of Las Vegas"—delivers access to video previews, show times, event calendars, directions, and ticket purchasing for all MGM Mirage activities in the city.
