Casino at ex-Rat Pack hangout closes at Tahoe
In the days of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr., the Cal Neva Lodge was one of Nevada's coolest casinos. Now the old resort on the Nevada-California line on Lake Tahoe's north shore at Crystal Bay is closing. While the casino’s owner hopes to reopen by the end of 2010, others think it can’t overcome the competition from Las Vegas and Indian casinos, coupled with the economic impact of the recession.
