SPUR Urban Center recently opened near San Francisco's Moscone Center. The property is on track to achieve Silver LEED certification and was developed by the San Francisco Planning & Urban Research Association. The building features cabinetry made from crushed sunflower seed husks and countertops made of recycled newspapers. SPUR can be rented on either an exclusive or floor-by-floor basis. Buy-outs provide more than 3,840 square feet of space for up to 425 guests, including the fourth-floor penthouse with terrace.
Located in Oakland, Calif., near the Paramount and Fox theaters, the Pican Restaurant features the Bourbon Room, a private dining room seating 36 guests for lunch or dinner. Pican offers a California-influenced menu of Southern cuisine along with an extensive collection of handmade, single-batch bourbons.
