* If you feel a bit at sea trying to sort through all the ships available for incentive cruises, Worldwide Travel and Cruise Associates in Plantation, Fla., wants to discuss your needs and match your group to a ship. "We are the bloodline to most of the cruise lines in the world and can advise meeting planners on what ship fits their specifications, negotiate the deal, and assist them with operations if they need us," says Shari Wallack. Contact Wallack at (954) 424-8649.
* Corporate cruise specialists Landry & Kling recently became part of The Travel Company, a Delray Beach, Fla.-based distributor of travel services. Since going public in July 1997, The Travel Company has brought together 20 companies, including 12 cruise retailers. What it means for planners who use Landry & Kling: an expanded sales force across the U.S., an ability to resell unused cabins to reducecharges if a group size drops, greater cruise volume leading to the possibility of more competitive pricing, and the possibility of "split charters." A split charter would allow a corporate group to buy only six nights of a 12-night itinerary, with The Travel Company packaging the other six nights for sale to individual travelers.
