New Name for Holiday Inn Holiday Inn Worldwide, franchisor of Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn Express hotels and a unit of Bass PLC, has renamed itself Holiday Hospitality. The new name is meant to reflect the fact that the company is a multi-brand hotel chain. Now in the midst of a $1 billion renovation of all Holiday Inn hotels, the company also is renewing its focus on customer service and guest satisfaction.
Radisson Small-Meetings Program Radisson Hotels Worldwide recently announced Radisson Meeting Solutions, its program to provide simplified planning for small meetings. The chain's decision to target the small-meeting market was based on industry research indicating that almost 70 percent of all meetings have fewer than 50 participants.
In addition, nearly 40 percent of all Radisson hotels have between 101 and 200 guest rooms and an average of 5,000 square feet of meeting space. To become certified as a Radisson Meeting Solutions property, a hotel must designate a member of the sales team as the Radisson Meeting Solutions executive, send this person through the program's training course, and have members of the banquet/catering staff complete the Radisson Meetings and Banquet education session. In addition to a dedicated on-site sales executive, the program offers online requests for proposals, a toll-free meetings desk help line, quick fax confirmations, and special meeting room amenities.
Swan and Dolphin Launch Executive Meetings Manager Desk The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin recently launched an Executive Meetings Manager (EMM) Desk dedicated to servicing corporate groups of up to 100 attendees. With one call, a meeting planner is in direct contact with a Swan and Dolphin sales professional who will take them step-by-step through the planning process. EMM sales managers have been cross-trained in convention services, catering, and reservations.
