Scott Flexman has been named director of sales and marketing for Sierra Lodging, overseeing its three Orlando properties: Caribe Royale Resort Suites & Villas; Buena Vista Suites; and the new Orlando Grande hotel, opening in 2003. He had been director of sales and marketing at the Renaissance Orlando Resort.
Ann H. Walker returns to The Greenbrier, in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., as executive director of sales. Walker had been vice president, sales and marketing, at Glade Springs Resort in Beckley, W.Va.
Michael Murphy has been named director of sales and marketing at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at Sea World. Murphy has relocated to Orlando from Chicago, where he was director of insurance sales for Marriott International.
Jan Hennessey has joined Fireman's Fund Insurance in San Francisco as director of corporate events and travel. Hennessey comes to Fireman's from Kaiser Permanante, where she worked for 12 years.
Thomas G. LaVaccare, CHME, has been named director of sales for TradeWinds Resort, St. Petersburg Beach, Fla. LaVaccare had been director of sales, incentive and insurance, for Westin Innisbrook Resort in Tarpon Springs, Fla.
Brian Windle has been named senior vice president, sales and marketing, for Destination Hotels & Resorts in Englewood, Colo. He has joined DH&R from Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he headed the launch of the chain's new urban business brand, W Hotels.
Rodd Herron has been named vice president, sales development, for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. He will be relocating to Dallas from Omaha, where he was vice president, global sales, for Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Michael Kovensky will be director of marketing at Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort. He had been director of sales for this Downtown Disney area property. Hilton also promoted Jared McLachlan to director of sales from assistant director.
Randall Jackson has been appointed corporate sales manager at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago. He will coordinate group sales for national corporate groups requiring 100 or more rooms. Jackson had been senior sales manager at The Hotel Allegro in Chicago.
Brian Soma is director of sales for the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He comes to the resort from The Orchid at Mauna Lani, where he was account director.
Candace Bengston has been promoted to director of group sales and also added the insurance market to her responsibilities at the Westin Mission Hills Resort, Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Elizabeth Grillos was named director of sales and marketing at the Hotel Sofitel Los Angeles. She had held the same title at the New Otani Hotel & Garden in Los Angeles.
Laura Gydesen has joined Grand Wailea Resort & Spa as associate director of sales. She will focus on the incentive market. Gydesen has relocated from one of Grand Wailea's sister properties, La Quinta Resort & Club near Palm Springs, Calif.
Cherie Carpenter has been named director of sales and marketing at The Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver. She joins the hotel from the Whistler Resort & Conference Centre, where she was sales manager.
Jonathan Campbell joins the Los Angeles office of the Australian Tourist Commission as manager, meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions marketing director in North America. He has worked for the ATC in London since 1993 as manager for market development Europe, South Africa, and the Middle East.
Donna Boyt has been named vice president of sales for Global Events Partners, based in its New York office. She had been a senior sales manager for the Denver Convention Center. GEP comprises 35 leading destination management companies and allied service providers.
