What do you wish you had more time for in your job?
I’ve always said I wish I had a “pause” button like you have on your DVR. It would be a wonderful time management tool to “pause” everything around me so that I could catch up on current projects or work on special assignments while not letting other items go unattended.

When working with meeting planners these days, what do you see as their biggest challenges? What are the challenges from a supplier perspective?
I think the biggest challenge for planners and suppliers today is trying to do more with less. The trend of smaller staffs with more on their plates continues, and the hours that meeting planners are working seem never-ending. This trend is also active among suppliers. I think it is important to make sure that time is valued, answers are complete, and that you can think one step ahead to ensure productivity.

Why did you decide to volunteer your time on the Financial & Insurance Conference Planners Hospitality Partners Advisory Council, and what do you enjoy about your involvement?
I decided to join the HPAC because I had been a partner in FICP for several years and felt that I should add my voice to help make the organization better. I’m constantly amazed by the passion, energy, and commitment people have for FICP. They don’t get paid for it, yet they serve as if they do and give 110 percent to their roles. This makes you proud to be part of a fantastic organization and provides you with so many opportunities to learn from your industry colleagues.

What do you never travel without?
A good book or magazines

If you could eat one food every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Cheese (and this is not just because I’m Green Bay Packer fan—otherwise known as a Cheesehead!)

What TV show is filling your DVR right now?

Describe your favorite photo or object sitting on your desk.
I won the trophy for best 1980s costume at our Staff Retreat last fall. While the theme was fun, the trophy really reminds me of what a great team I work with and how much fun we can have together. There were a lot of laughs that evening, and it is moments like those that really make me appreciate the great environment I work in. That friendship and camaraderie makes us a dynamic team.
