Dining on the Wild Side Take your attendees for a culinary experience that satisfies more than just the palate. The Rainforest Cafe offers dining in a tropical environment of cool mists, cascading waterfalls, and lush vegetation, as well as live and animated wildlife.

Andrea Townsend, support specialist at State Farm Insurance in Chicago, recently held a staff appreciation lunch at the Windy City's Rainforest Cafe. "We look for different ideas all the time that will hold people's interest, and the Rainforest Cafe did just that," she says. "There are simulated rainstorms every twenty minutes, an impressive aquarium with tropical fish, and animated monkeys and other animals." Attendees stay dry during the rainstorms, but menu options such as Rasta Pasta and Rumble in the Jungle will whet their appetites.

Group options at the Chicago outlet run from reserving a table to buying out the entire restaurant (350 attendees for a sit-down dinner, up to 800 for a reception). Choices are similar at the 14 other Rainforest Cafe locations in the U.S.: Minneapolis.; Schaumburg and Gurnee, Ill.; Lake Buena Vista, Aventura, Sunrise, and Orlando, Fla.; McLean, Va.; Costa Mesa, Calif.; Westbury and West Nyack, N.Y.; Grapevine, Texas; Tempe, Ariz.; and Las Vegas. Three international venues--in London, Cancun, and Mexico City--are also drawing groups. Rainforest Cafe, Inc. recently added a national group sales team, with offices in Orlando, Chicago, and Las Vegas.
