The question of how to hold an environmentally friendly meeting is one that more and more planners are grappling with. For answers, they can now turn to a report released in April from the Convention Industry Council.

The report is the result of the work of the CIC Green Meetings Task Force, comprising individuals from the Environmental Protection Agency, the World Travel Organization, Oceans Blue Foundation, the Society of Incentive Travel Executives' Green Meeting Group, and hotels, CVBs, and meeting planners. The group came up with best practices that the industry can use as guidelines for implementing policies of sustainability.
