A Classy Gift
One of the virtues of insurance, according to Bob Mankoff, cartoon editor of The New Yorker and president and founder of the Cartoon Bank, is that it can be pretty funny. “Humor helps you deal with anxieties we all have,” he says. The Cartoon Bank, a New Yorker Magazine company, is an archive of all the cartoons ever published in that prestigious magazine, as well thousands of unpublished cartoons created by some of the greatest New Yorker cartoonists. With hundreds of cartoons relating to the insurance industry, it can design and publish a corporate-branded book featuring 80 or more. Prices range from $50 per book to less than $10 per book, depending on volume.
“It's as though The New Yorker produced a book for you,” Mankoff says. “Hand it out as a premium at a meeting or give it to a [top producer]. It's not some little tchotchke he's going to throw away.”
