1. If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you be?
On a beach at a resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico, reading, with an umbrella drink in my hand …
2. What’s playing on your iPod?
Coldplay, Keane, Springsteen, Roxy Music, The Who, some good running music, and some Sinatra, too, for those Sunday mornings. But I am a rock 'n' roll girl at heart.
3. It’s time for a second career. What do you choose?
Publicist or professional photographer
4. What is your hidden talent?
Fundraising and photography. I seem to be always raising money for something and I always carry my camera with me!
5. What is your favorite cause or charity?
Susan G. Komen for the Cure/finding a cure for breast cancer. Also, I was recently appointed to the board of DePaul USA, a nonprofit agency in Philadelphia that helps homeless and disadvantaged people move toward an independent and positive future. I am excited to be involved with this international organization as it creates programs in other cities in the United States.
6. What are your top travel tips?
Go with the flow and be flexible. Every trip is an adventure. Appreciate the fact that this industry affords us the opportunity to see new places and have new experiences. When that gets old, it’s time to find a new career.
7. What’s always in your refrigerator?
Champagne (you never know when you’ll want to celebrate something).
8. What’s the best book you’ve read recently?
Blink by Malcolm Gladwell, which is a great book for folks in our industry who have to consistently make decisions in an instant. Also, Life by Keith Richards.
9. Who inspires you?
My mom, Maxine Taylor, who died six years ago from breast cancer. She was outgoing, fun, friendly, a leader, an organizer, and a travel agent who always took her kids along and introduced us to traveling at an early age. She always let me be who I was (even when I it was difficult for her) and never, ever said, “I told you so,” even when I gave her countless opportunities to say it. She also was successful at juggling her work and being a mom, and was wonderful at both.
10. What do you do to stay healthy?
I run, do a spin class at 5:30 a.m. twice a week, and play Wii sports with my seven-year-old!
