Find the Guidelines Online
U.S. Treasury TARP Standards for Compensation and Corporate Governance
Go to www.ustreas.gov/press/releases/tg165.htm for the press release summarizing the standards; click the link embedded in the release to read all 123 pages of the document.
Meeting Industry Model Board Policy
Go to www.ustravel.org. Under the “Meetings” heading in the “Advocacy” section, click on “Guidelines” to download a PDF.
For the list of TARP recipients, go to www.financialstability.gov, click on “The Latest” and then on “Reports and Documents.”
You could pick a company, then go to its Web site and search for the Luxury Expenditures Policy. (All TARP recipients were required to post their policies online as of September 14, 2009.) A cursory review reveals a range of specificity and lack thereof. Check out AMB Financial of Lake County, Ind., for an example of a very general policy. On the other hand, First Financial Holdings Inc., Charleston, S.C., has created a detailed and specific policy.
