Ritz-Carlton Caribbean Advisory Council
Meeting at The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan Hotel, Spa, & Casino, August 7-10, for the annual Ritz-Carlton Caribbean Advisory Council, a group of senior-level insurance meeting managers and Ritz-Carlton representatives discussed industry issues that ranged from revenue management to green initiatives. Even last summer, there was an overall feeling of “watchful waiting” in terms of the economic impact on insurance meetings, with planners saying they were seeing a decrease in the number of internal and ancillary meetings being scheduled and in the number of incentive qualifiers. Attrition and cancellation policies, budget constraints, and compliance with FINRA guidelines were among their main concerns. Education sessions also covered an overview of Ritz-Carlton's long range plan, new properties in the pipeline, and its culinary and community service initiatives.
