Emotional Intelligence Expert Headlines FICP Northeast Meeting
As we cruise into 2010, the Financial & Insurance Conference Planners Northeast Region has selected the theme “Shifting Gears” for its upcoming meeting.
Set for January 24–26 at Tarrytown House Estate & Conference Center in Tarrytown, N.Y., the meeting is open to members, nonmembers, and invited hospitality partners. On the agenda are two guest speakers, networking events, and roundtable discussions on topics suggested by registrants. Take the opportunity to add your input when you register at the FICP Web site. You can’t beat the $100 registration fee for members: It includes everything!
Headlining the agenda is renowned author and psychologist Hendrie Weisinger, PhD, who will discuss “emotional intelligence,” a topic about which he has written numerous books, taught MBA courses, and counseled Fortune 500 executives. He currently teaches executive education courses at the Wharton School of Business.
Corporate America today, says Weisinger, is dominated by the emotions of anxiety, fear, and anger. His hands-on presentation will show attendees how to “create” the emotions of success—confidence, optimism, and enthusiasm—and tap into the characteristic of tenacity.
Also on the docket is Rick Cerrone, longtime PR executive with the New York Yankees. Both speakers are sponsored by Goodman Speakers Bureau.
The meeting kicks off with an opening reception and dinner on Sunday evening, January 24. On Monday, a full day of education will be followed by an off-site dinner, and the meeting concludes after a morning session on Tuesday.
