ACOM Shoots for Bigger National Celebrate Services Day
The Association for Convention Operations Management is expanding its annual National Celebrate Services Day this year, aiming for a 65 percent increase in the number of events planned throughout the U.S. and Canada to recognize the importance of convention services in the meeting experience.
The second annual celebration will be August 25, 2011, and organizers are hoping for 50 ACOM-member hosted events—everything from community outreach to colleague networking receptions. ACOM has created a webinar with tips on holding a National Celebrate Services Day event.
ACOM’s goals for the NCSD are to encourage camaraderie among convention service managers, drive membership in the association, and showcase the job of the CSM. The association is offering free registration to its 2012 Annual Conference to the host of the NCSD event deemed to be the most creative or unique. (Last year, Fort Worth, Texas, took the honor.) The 2012 ACOM Annual Conference is January 6–8 in San Diego.
