Motivation Show Seminars Announced
Highlights
Texas Roadhouse CEO to KeynoteDespite the introduction this year of two competing trade shows targeting the meetings industry, The Motivation Show announced a robust lineup of seminars and satellite events for 2011. The show, to be held October 4–6 at McCormick Place West in Chicago, will continue its meeting and event management education track, with sessions on strategic meetings management, sustainable meetings, social media, and hybrid meetings, while other tracks will focus on customer loyalty, employee recognition, sales motivation, and training.
Among the many highlights:
- A brand new conference—Learning 3.0—will co-locate with the Motivation Show October 4 and 5. Its content will focus on mobile, social, gamification, and simulation applications for learning.
- The CEO Summit will be held Thursday, October 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., in conjunction with Northwestern University’s The Forum: Business Results Through People, and Return on Performance magazine. Michelle M. Smith, vice president, business development at O.C. Tanner, will present a session on Driving Business Growth in a People-Led Economy, and management consulting firm The Hay Group will hold a session on "How the Fortune World’s Most Admired Companies Sustain Performance."
- G.J. Hart, the president and CEO of Texas Roadhouse, will be the show’s keynote luncheon speaker on Tuesday, October 4. Hart received national attention for defending the use of incentives during the “AIG effect” period in 2008 and 2009 when they were being scrutinized by the media.
