Conference Green Initiatives from the Society of Incentive and Travel Executives
The Society of Incentive & Travel Executives is planning its first green International Conference in Monterey, Calif., December 6-9. Among the steps the planning committee is taking: They are selecting locally grown organic food; choosing speakers on environmental topics; using recycled paper materials and Earth-friendly promotional products; investigating “green friendly” rental cars; and hosting an event at the Monterey Bay Aquarium where attendees will learn about the “Seafood Watch Program,” which promotes buying seafood from sustainable sources. At the annual Crystal Awards Program on December 7, SITE will introduce a new category: “Most Outstanding Sustainable Incentive Event.”
