Green Restaurants
A growing number of restaurants — more than 1,000 in 23 states — are earning certification through The Green Restaurant Association, a nonprofit environmental consulting group. The process involves an audit by the GRA and then a commitment to making four annual changes, such as using low-flow spray valves to reduce water use, LED lighting to boost energy efficiency, or composting to manage food waste. A list of Certified Green Restaurants can be found at www.dinegreen.com.
