Meet Marriott in Paris
Marriott International has embarked upon an ambitious refurbishment plan to bring the latest technologies and green initiatives to its Parisian properties. And in May, the company opened its ninth hotel in Paris: the Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe.
Sited on a leafy boulevard in the 16th arrondissement, the Renaissance Paris Hotel Le Parc Trocadero is a short walk from the Place du Trocadero, home to the Palais de Chaillot, which houses the French National Theater. The property's 116 rooms surround a 13,000-square-foot cobblestone courtyard. Renovated in 2008, the hotel offers 11,000 square feet of meeting space plus four meeting rooms at 59 Poincaré, an art nouveau townhouse that was once home to Alfred Nobel. Stained-glass windows, a mosaic fountain, and carved woodwork that is protected by French historic preservation authorities adorn 59 Poincaré's 1,261 square feet of meeting space.
The 757-room Marriott Paris Rive Gauche Hotel & Conference Center was renovated in 2007. Located in the 14th arrondissement, near public transportation and the motorway that circles the city, the property is convenient to both Paris airports and to downtown Paris. A spacious lobby leads to informal meeting rooms, while a separate conference center offers 52,000 square feet of meeting space and 40 breakout rooms for up to 1,200 participants. An expansive fitness center offers state-of-the-art equipment and natural daylight.
The new 118-room Renaissance Arc de Triomphe was built on the site of the Theatre de l'Empire. Echoing its surroundings, the hotel incorporates theatrical elements. Its facade includes floor-to-ceiling, undulating glass walls, reminiscent of a theater curtain yet providing both noise cancellation and privacy while allowing guests unobstructed views from their rooms. Four meeting rooms provide a total of 1,600 square feet of meeting space, each with access to outdoor terraces for dining and networking. Across a courtyard that provides additional outdoor meeting space sits the 19th-century Salle Wagram, a ballroom and theater whose two meeting rooms continue the theatrical theme.
