An IAEE First: Interactive, Virtual Town Hall Session From Expo! Expo!

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events will team up with digital event marketing agency, bXb Online, to broadcast a town hall session live from its annual meeting and exhibition, Expo! Expo!, on December 5. This marks the first time that IAEE has offered a virtual extension of Expo! Expo!, which will be held December 4–6 in Orlando, Fla.

IAEE will stream the session live from the trade show floor at the Orange County Convention Center from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST. Online attendees will be able to ask questions and engage with industry leaders about strategic initiatives and trends affecting the exhibitions and events industry.

The panel includes David DuBois, CMP, CAE, president and CEO of IAEE; Eric Ly, co-founder of social media Web site LinkedIn and current president of Presdo Inc., a company that fosters event networking; Chris Brown, executive vice president, conventions and business operations at the National Association of Broadcasters; Doreen Biela, chair of the Board of Directors at IAEE; and Judy Owen, vice president, training & development at Freeman and the 2012 IAEE Education Committee chair.

“The online extension is a powerful means to get a pulse on the mission-critical issues and trends in our industry,” said DuBois, who began with IAEE on October 1. “Now, during this one-hour, online opportunity, we can reach out and hear from professionals everywhere who are unable to join us at the trade show in Orlando.”

"It’s rewarding to be in a position to help extend quality education and interactive discussion within the events industry beyond the trade show floor in Orlando’s convention center," said bXb Online’s founder, Tony Larenz. Larenz and bXb are getting ready to launch Best of Business Television, or BOBtv, in the first quarter of 2013. BOBtv will be an online hub for virtual meetings content from a variety of industries, including meetings. IAEE, Professional Convention Management Association, and ASAE have all signed up to distribute meetings content through this new channel.
