The resort will have an additional 90,000 square feet of interior space and 130,000 square feet of updated outdoor space, as well as a new spa, patio, restaurant, bar, golf pro shop, golf staging area, and improvements to two 18-hole golf courses. In 2004, the resort completed a $32 million renovation that included more than 45,000 square feet of meeting space, 292 guest rooms and suites, and a new lobby. www.pacificpalmsresort.com
The first purpose-built, full-service conference center in south Florida has just opened at the 405-room Wyndham Miami Airport Hotel & Executive Meeting Center. The extensive redevelopment and construction project included the remodel of the 4,032-square-foot Pan Am ballroom, as well as a redesign of the 15 existing meeting rooms and the addition of two meeting rooms. All public areas were renovated. The staffed business center is equipped with 12 computer stations, and the entire meeting center has wireless, high-speed Internet access. A full guest room renovation is slated for completion August 1. www.wyndham.com/hotels/MIAAP/main.wnt
