The National Institute for Quality Improvement in Education Launches Its First Annual ConferenceThe National Institute for Quality Improvement and Education is holding its first annual conference, NIQIE 2008: Building the Bridge Between CME and Quality Improvement, October 2-3, at the Renaissance M Street Hotel, Washington, D.C.
The conference aims to bring together quality-improvement and continuing medical education professionals to discuss how to build a national strategy for integrating both disciplines, with the goal of improving physician performance. Topics include measuring performance improvement; ensuring maintenance of competence through maintenance of certification, maintenance of licensure, and credentialing; performance-improvement technologies; the role of health systems in continuous performance improvement; and how to access and use healthcare data sources.
