Highlights
Medical meeting industry leader William H. Just, CMP, CAE, died on December 19, 2008William H. (“Bill”) Just, CMP, CAE, died in Atlanta at the age of 68 on December 19, 2008. He retired as president and CEO of Total Association Management Services Inc. in late 2002.
Just was the founder and executive director of the Association for Convention Operations Management, which formed in 1988; and of the Association for Convention Marketing Executives, which began in 1990.
At TAMS, he also served as executive director for the Association of Medical Illustrators and for the BioCommunications Association. Just was pivotal in the creation of the Certified Meeting Professional designation, administered by the Convention Industry Council, and was among the first to earn the certification. He was inducted into the CIC's Hall of Leaders in 1999.
