Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel
Dallas

The News: The new, 1,016-room hotel is scheduled to open in early 2012.

Specs: The hotel will be connected to the Dallas Convention Center, which offers more than one million square feet of exhibit space. The hotel will feature more than 80,000 square feet of meeting space, several restaurants and lounges, and a signature spa.

The Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas
Irving, Texas

The News: This new $133 million center is scheduled to open at the end of 2010.

Specs: The 275,000-square-foot, multipurpose facility includes a 50,000-square-foot, column-free exhibit hall; 20,000 square feet of breakout meeting space; and a 20,000-square-foot ballroom.

Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square
Lancaster, Pa.

The News: The new, integrated $177 million facility opened in June after approximately two years of construction.

Specs: The convention center and 299-room hotel offer a combined 90,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 46,500-square-foot exhibition hall, and a 9,000-square-foot ballroom. The hotel features two business centers, a 100-seat restaurant and lounge, indoor pool, and spa with two treatment rooms.

Washington State Convention & Trade Center
Seattle

The News: The center is awaiting the green light for a proposed $766 million expansion.

Specs: The convention center has 61 meeting rooms and ballrooms totaling 105,000 square feet of space, and exhibit space totaling 205,700 square feet.

Extra: The convention center was the first in the nation to begin offering completely compostable water bottles for attendees back in July 2008.

The Busan Exhibition and Convention Center
Busan, Korea

The News: The center is undergoing a 250,000-square-foot expansion, to be complete in 2012.

Specs: The revamped convention center will include a new 200,000-square-foot exhibition hall, a 20,000-square-foot multipurpose room, a 4,000-seat auditorium, and underground parking for 2,000 cars. The existing facility is 850,000 square feet in area.

Hilton Baltimore Convention Center Hotel
Baltimore

The News: The 757-room hotel opened in late 2008 and is connected to the Baltimore Convention Center via an enclosed pedestrian walkway.

Specs: 62,000 square feet of meeting space, 46 meeting rooms, underground parking, 5,000 square feet of dining space, and an indoor pool

Las Cruces Convention Center
Las Cruces, N.M.

The News: The new convention center broke ground in June and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2010.

Specs: The center will be 55,000 square feet in area, with 30,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 15,000-square-foot exhibition hall, a 9,360-square-foot ballroom, and six breakout rooms.

Extra: The new center will also offer 5,000 square feet of outdoor space.

Doubletree Pittsburgh/Monroeville Convention Center
Pittsburgh

The News: The new convention center opens this September, while the adjacent hotel is scheduled to reopen in December following a multimillion-dollar renovation.

Specs: The 190-room hotel features an indoor pool, fitness center, restaurant/lounge, and 16,000 square feet of meeting space for groups of up to 720. The new convention center is located next door to the hotel and offers more than 100,000 square feet of exhibition space for groups of up to 5,400.
