PGI Buys IACVB Meeting & Regency Productions; Hires Hartley-Leonard
PGI, an Arlington, VAp;based events, entertainment, exhibitions, and business communications company, has acquired the Destination Showcase trade show from the International Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus (IACVB). The events are held annually in Washington, DC; Chicago, and, starting this year, New York. IACVB, which has entered into a ten-year agreement with PGI, will continue to sponsor the shows. The other recent purchase by fast-growing PGI is Regency Productions, the former event production division of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Darryl Hartley-Leonard, who recently retired as chairman of the board of Hyatt, will continue in his position as vice chairman of Regency Productions. He also has been appointed vice chairman of PGI.
Regency Productions/PGI will specialize in entertainment marketing and events.
