Joan V. Garcia has been named vice president, medical communications at PGI MedCom, the Medical Communications division of PGI, an event and communications company based in Washington, D.C. Garcia has been involved in medical education and communications for more than 20 years and was most recently head of the U.S. office of the Medical Knowledge Group, a division of Hill and Knowlton Inc. Garcia will be working out of PGI's New York office.

BETSY GREY has been appointed Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts' director of global sales for the Northeast United States. She will oversee pharmaceutical accounts in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania for Le Méridien properties worldwide, and will be based in the New York City regional office. Before joining Le Méridien, Grey was a director with LA Inc., the convention and visitors bureau of Los Angeles.

The Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort, in Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., has named ERIC WILLIAMS account director for the global incentive market. Williams will be responsible for global pharmaceutical markets. He is the former senior convention sales manager for the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
