Wentworth by the Sea resort will reopen in April as a Marriott hotel, conference center, and spa, restoring the historic hotel to the prominence it enjoyed for a century after opening in 1874. Located in New Castle, N.H., and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Wentworth by the Sea Marriott Hotel & Spa will have 164 guest rooms and suites, most with ocean or harbor views, and will feature tri-level suites in each of the its three Victorian turret towers. Seventeen two-level suites, designed for extended stay guests, will be available. All guest accommodations include heated marble bathroom floors and high-speed Internet access. There is more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and function space, including the original grand ballroom. The formal restaurant is accented by a carefully restored, hand-painted ceiling. An informal waterfront cafe; a full-service spa; indoor and outdoor pools; and guest golf access to the adjacent, independent Wentworth by the Sea Country Club round out the resort's offerings. www.wentworth.com

A new restaurant opened in October in Texas: not so unusual, perhaps — until you consider that Trevísio is located on the sixth floor of the new John P. McGovern Texas Medical Center Commons building in Houston. Featuring fine Italian dining, “with an Americanized twist,” according to Chef Alan Ashkinaze, the restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Friday, and dinner Monday through Saturday. Trevísio features a variety of conference and function space, and can accommodate up to 500 guests for events. www.trevisiorestaurant.com

A 2,400-square-foot conference center has been completed at the 46-story Flatotel, an independently owned hotel at 135 West 52nd Street in New York. Located on the second floor, the main ballroom can accommodate up to 180 people. Each of Flatotel's four meeting rooms can accommodate 24 people classroom-style. The entire floor will seat 200. All meeting rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and amenities, including videoconferencing with built-in plasma screens. Event space includes the Galleria, a 6,000-square-foot breezeway set under a soaring ceiling of skylights and festival lighting. Located off the side of the lobby, it runs between 52nd and 53rd Streets, providing an unusual meeting alternative. The all-season Galleria can handle sit-down dinners for up to 150 people or a cocktail reception for 400. Flatotel's 200 guest rooms and one-bedroom suites were renovated this year. www.flatotel.com

The $50 million Lodge at Stone-wall Resort, Weston, W.V., opened in October with 198 guest rooms, all offering lake or golf course views and high-speed Internet access. The resort's 14,000-square-foot conference center includes three conference rooms, eight breakout rooms, a board-room, and a grand ballroom capable of seating 350 people. An 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course opened in June. Located on Stonewall Jackson Lake, West Virginia's second-largest lake, the resort/conference center offers a 374-slip marina, with watercraft available for rental. www.StonewallResort.com

Hyatt Regency Los Angeles recently completed a $2.5 million renovation of its ballroom. The 10,000-square-foot ballroom and the 3,700-square-foot foyer and corridors were completely redesigned. The ballroom can now be divided into six separate sections. The hotel offers 26,000 square feet of function space on one level. http://losangelesregency.hyatt.com

The Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, with 1,110-rooms and 90,000 square feet of exhibit space, is undergoing a $23 million project to renovate guest rooms and exhibit space. www.starwood.com
