Some 33 educational seminars will be available at the 7th Annual Affordable Meetings Exposition & Conference, September 4 to 5 in Washington, DC. Sponsored by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), the program will feature James R. Daggett, CAE, CMP, a former medical meeting planner, who will speak about "Checklists, Forms, and Specs," and "The 1-2-3s of Meeting Management."

"What Meeting Planners Must Know to Avoid Liability" and "How the Proper Meeting Contract Can Save You Money" are two of the legal seminars that will be given; and sessions on getting the most out of audiovisual on a shoestring budget and stress survival skills for the meeting planner are just two more sessions that will offer money-saving ideas. Some 650 exhibiting companies will show their wares from noon to 4 p.m. each day.

HSMAI has renewed the show management contract of George Little Management, Inc. (GLM) for another five years. It also announced that next year a West Coast version of the show will be held, from April 16 to 17 in San Jose, CA.
