He has also served as CEO of the American Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
Carolyn Keen Lewis has been appointed director of the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Washington, DC. She was previously program director and senior administrator for the Center.
CONVENTION CENTERS & BUREAUS Christine Shimasaki, formerly director of sales, convention facilities, at the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been named vice president of sales andfor the San Diego Convention Center. Also moving from the bureau to the center is Kevin Kamenzind, formerly national sales manager, convention facilities, who has been promoted to director of sales, citywide conventions.
Jean-Pierre Fonteneau has been named executive director of the Nice (France) Acropolis Convention and Exhibition Centre. He had been director of the Toulon (France) CongresCenter.
Bruce Redor is the new head of the Lyon Congres, the convention branch of the Greater Lyon Tourist Office. Redor had been director of the Congress andDepartment at Eurodisney.
Tammy Halsted was appointed national convention sales manager at the Tampa/Hillborough (FL) Convention and Visitors Bureau, responsible for the national and state association markets. She had been director of sales for Adam's Mark Hotel in Houston.
HOTELS AND RESORTS Mike Dimond, CHSE, senior vice president of marketing, Opryland Hospitality & Attractions Group, was inducted into the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International's Hall of Fame during its annual meeting in April. Dimond is only the 35th individual to receive this honor, which was created in 1968.
Jane Maine de Biran was appointed director of sales for the Caravel Management Company, responsible for sales in the USA for the following properties: Hotel Le Bristol in Paris; Brenner's Park-Hotel & Spa in Baden Baden, Germany; Park Hotel Vitznau (Switzerland); Le Chateau du Domaine St. Martin in Vence, France; and Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d'Antibes, France. Maine de Biran, who will be based in New York, had been a sales and marketing consultant for Solamar, an Italian management company specializing in villas and hotels worldwide.
Gratien Kruczek has returned to Princess Hotels International as managing director of Pemberton Princess Hotels (Glitter Bay and Royal Pavilion) in Barbados. He first joined Princess in 1988 as regional vice president and general manager of the Scottsdale (AZ) Princess. Most recently, he was managing director at the Loews Monte Carlo Hotel in Monaco.
Brian Moodie has joined Royal Garden Resorts Group as vice president, sales and marketing. The group of Thai properties includes The Marriott Royal Garden Riverside Hotel Bangkok, Royal Garden Village and Royal Garden Resort in Hua Hin; and the Royal Garden Resort, Pattaya. Projects are also under way in Phuket, Thailand and Cambodia and Vietnam. Moodie had been director of marketing for The Regent Bangkok.
Conrad International has appointed Theresa Choo director of sales and marketing for the Conrad International Singapore hotel. She had been director of international sales for Shangri-La Hotels.
Adrian Van Haaften has joined the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island, Hawaii, as director of sales and marketing. He had been director of sales and marketing for the Pan Pacific Hotel San Francisco.
The ANA Hotel San Francisco appointed Brian Winston director of marketing. Winston had been vice president of sales for Boston's World Trade Center, orchestrating the pre-opening marketing strategies for the center's 415-room hotel, opening in 1998.
Dave Swift was named director of sales and marketing at the Westward Look Resort in Tucson. Swift had been director of sales and marketing for Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa.
The Boston Marriott Copley Place has appointed Dave Keamy director of marketing. Keamy, a 15-year Marriott veteran, had been director of marketing at Boston's Marriott Long Wharf.
The Seattle Sheraton Hotel & Towers has named Doug Collins director of sales and marketing. He had been director of sales at the Sheraton Boston Hotel & Towers.
Diane Niblock was appointed director of sales and marketing at the Radisson Marque, Winston-Salem (NC). Niblock had been convention sales manager at the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The Westin Hotel, Washington, DC has appointed Michele Vetter director of sales and Buddee CH Clinton director of catering. Vetter had been director of sales and marketing for the Clarion Hotel in Sacramento, CA; Clinton joins Westin from the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Alexandria, VA, where he was director of catering and convention services.
Kaleigh Grover was named national sales manager at The Registry Resort in Naples, FL. She will handle association and corporate business from the Northeast. She had been executive group manager at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, FL.
AIR AND CRUISE LINES Mark Ellinger has been named general manager, eastern region, for Swissair in New York. He had been director of public relations and market communications.
Arthur Sbarsky was appointed senior vice president, marketing for Celebrity Cruises in Miami. He had been senior vice president, marketing for Crystal Cruises.
Frank Hesslein is the new manager of incentive sales for Holland America, based in Seattle. He had been regional sales manager with Royal Viking Line and Crystal Cruises.
Tom Root was promoted to charter and incentive sales coordinator at Windstar Cruises. He had been with Windstar reservations.
ASSOCIATION AND MEETING SERVICES Paul B. Mullen has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Las Vegas-pbased GES Exposition Services, one of the country's largest general contractors for trade shows, expositions, and special events. Mullen joins GES from exhibit designer Exhibitgroup/Giltspur, Inc., where he was president and chief executive officer.
Sharon Bennett was named senior vice president of the Bostrom Corporation in Chicago. She had been vice president of client services at Burnison Martello & Associates, also in Chicago. The Bostrom Corporation is a full-service association management firm with office in Chicago and Washington, DC.
Michael Foster has joined Wyndham Travel Partners as senior vice president of its newest division, Wyndham Resources International, which will focus on convention and event services. He had been affiliated with Destinations Inc.
Eric Flynn has been named marketing manager by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), responsible for IFMA's educational programs, research projects, publications, and the IFMA Foundation. He had been marketing manager for the International Cellulose Corporation in Houston.
