Set on the grounds of the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., and overlooking the Hudson River, the Hotel Thayer underwent a recent $26 million restoration that included the reconstruction and enlargement of its 150 guest rooms, the addition of new meeting rooms, and the upgrade of existing ones. The property can now accommodate meetings for 300 people within its 10 conference rooms that total 18,250 square feet. A new wing is slated to open in 2003 that will feature an additional 128 guest rooms and 25,000 square feet of meeting space.

  • Scheduled to open in January, the 295-room Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples (Fla.) will offer 14,800 square feet of meeting and conference space, comprising eight meeting rooms and a 7,800-square-foot grand ballroom. The resort is surrounded by the 27-hole Tiburon Golf Course, designed by Greg Norman.

  • The Hyatt Regency Miami's $8 million renovation was completed last month. The downtown hotel, with 100,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, has installed T3 lines for high-speed Internet connectivity in each of its 27 meeting rooms. Also renovated were its 612 guest rooms and suites. The hotel adjoins the Miami Convention Center.

  • Located on the former site of John Gardiner's Tennis Ranch, the completely remodeled Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, Paradise Valley, Ariz., is set on 53 acres and offers 74 casitas and 24 spa villas. Opened in December 2001, the Sanctuary Spa includes 10 treatment rooms and a lap pool. The 9,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting facilities include a dedicated meeting building with more than 3,500 square feet of space, and a ballroom that can accommodate 200 people banquet-style.

  • In December 2001, the Snake River Lodge & Spa, located in Jackson Hole, Wyo., with 88 lodge rooms and 40 suites, will open its newly renovated meeting center. The meeting center's 3,250 square feet of space will accommodate as many as 200 people.
