Radisson Cable Beach & Golf Resort

THE OLDEST GOLF COURSE in the Bahamas just got a $4.5 million facelift, and it was unveiled to meeting and golf media under a blazing Caribbean sun in February.

Along with the revamp came a new name. Nassau's Radisson Cable Beach Resort is now the Radisson Cable Beach & Golf Resort. Fred Settle, of International Golf Design, redesigned the property's 18-hole course in an effort to improve drainage and make it more resort-friendly. He blended aesthetics and function — the entire course has been regrassed to make it as lush and green as it was the day it opened in 1928. Within two years, 300 palm trees will be added to enhance the already stunning tropical setting.

“This change will help reposition the property for incentive groups in response to high demand. Great beaches, good food, and quality accommodations are all key factors [influencing groups when they choose a venue], but having great golf to offer to groups is a big benefit, too,” said Brian K. Meister, vice president of sales and marketing.

The Radisson is the only property in the entire Bahamas that includes greens fees in its all-inclusive rate.

The resort is impeccably maintained with dining options ranging from Bahamian beach fun to classic elegance. Its seven-acre waterscape — a sparkling pool complex paired with a 1,000-foot stretch of sugary sand — sets the mood for a memorable outdoor reception. As many as 1,000 guests can gather in the Radisson's 25,000 feet of indoor function space.
