Slack, Inc., based in Thorofare, NJ, an association management company that has specialized in healthcare clients for 40 years, is now marketing to a wider range of clientele. As part of its new strategic plan, Slack has opened a Washington, DC office and changed the name of its association services division to TEAM Management.

"We will always have the medical societies as a specialty area," says Clifford M. Brownstein, vice president and chief operating officer of TEAM Management, "but on top of that we want to specialize in nonspecialties." TEAM Management has acquired one new nonmedical client, Inpact Americas, an accounting association.

TEAM, which develops continuing medical education programs and manages trade shows that attract from several hundred to 18,000 attendees, currently handles about 20 healthcare organizations. Brownstein says there will be no change in the company's fee structure.
