TAKING CREDIT APPLICATIONS ONLINE
The American Academy of Family Physicians, Leawood, Kan., decided to do something a little different with its CME accreditation credit application: It put the process online.
Earlier this year, AAFP announced a new Web site — www.aafp.org/cme/accreditation — that includes redesigned CME credit application forms for group activities, enduring materials, and medical journals that physicians can fill in online. While applicants still have to print off the completed form and submit a hard copy with signatures, supporting materials, and payment, AAFP is working on making submissions completely electronic.
The new Web site also includes information and supporting materials for the AAFP's new criteria for evaluating and categorizing CME content which became effective in January. AAFP's next project is developing an online training module for evidence-based CME, and additional evidence-based medicine resources.
